Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

This is a status message to indicate AC BUS 3 was manually isolated OFF.

(This is not an indication of failure. Use this troubleshooting only in case of an abnormal situation).

Possible Causes:

  • AC BUS 3 was manually selected to OFF
  • Electrical Management System Control Display Unit (EMSCDU) (A94)
  • Electrical Management System Control Display Unit (EMSCDU) (A91)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. In the cockpit, access one of the EMS CDU. Push on the "EMER CNTL" button to access the Bus Isolation Control page. Select AC 3 with the left Line Select Key (LSK). Select AC BUS 3 to "ON" by pushing on the right LSK. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  2. Replace EMS CDU 1. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  3. Reinstall the original EMS CDU 1 and install the new EMS CDU in position 2.
  4. Do close out.
