Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

SPC - Channel A or Channel B is in advance mode.

Possible Causes:

  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC)
  • The pilot or copilot makes an advance mode selection from the EMS CDU
  • There is a flap failure
  • There is a slat failure
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin:

  • AW700-24-0174 - Intermixing SPDA -13 or -15 with SPDA -9 or-11
  • AW700-27-0363 - No Fault Found Initiative: Stall Protection Computer

NOTES:

  • If you can confirm that a -13 SPDA is indeed physically installed in the #3 position and that you only have one -13 unit installed whereas the other three SPDAs are a mix of -7 and -9 units, then you can re-position the -13 SPDA to the #1 or #4 position per AW recommendation.
