Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

ACPC Cards Isolation Procedure

WARNING: Always remove power from the aircraft before removing and installing ACPC cards during this procedure. Failure to do so could cause injury to personnel and damage to the equipment.

  1. Remove all cards from the ACPC.
  2. Re-install:

    • Supervisor card (This card is needed at all times)

  3. Re-install:

    • L/H microprocessor
    • Primary Logic Card 1 (PLC 1)

  4. On the L/H EMS CDU access the signboard menu, press on the SYSTEM key and select COUNTERS. Verify the following Counter:

    EMS CDU COUNTER VALUE
    LH ACPC IN

    1. If Counter is not 0, continue with next step
    2. If counter is 0, remove cards installed in step 3 and continue with next step.

  5. Re-install:

    • R/H microprocessor
    • PLC 3

  6. On RH EMS CDU (or both EMS CDU depending if LH Micro is still in), verify the following Counter:

    EMS CDU COUNTER VALUE
    LH ACPC IN
    RH ACPC IN

    1. If Counters are not 0, continue with next step
    2. If counters are 0, remove cards installed in step 5 and continue with next step.

  7. Re-install:

    • EXT AC/DC converter card
    • PLC 2

  8. On both EMS CDU, verify the following Counters:

    EMS CDU COUNTER VALUE
    LH ACPC IN
    RH ACPC IN

    1. If Counters are not 0, continue with next step
    2. If counters are 0, remove cards installed in step 7 and continue with next step.

  9. Re-install:

    • Solid State Power Controller (SSPC) cards (one at a time)

  10. On both EMS CDU, verify the following Counters:

    EMS CDU COUNTER VALUE
    LH ACPC IN
    RH ACPC IN

    1. If Counters are not 0, continue with the installation of all SSPC cards 1 by 1 and check counter after each installation.
    2. If counters are 0, remove the SSPC card just installed. Validate that the counters are not at 0 and continue with the other SSPC cards installation.

  11. Re-install the remaining ACPC cards that have not been installed yet in this procedure
  12. On both EMS CDU, verify the following Counters:

    EMS CDU COUNTER VALUE
    LH ACPC IN
    RH ACPC IN

    1. If Counters are not 0, continue with the installation of the remaining cards 1 by 1 and check counter after each installation.
    2. If counters are 0, remove the card just installed. Validate that the counters are not at 0 and continue with the cards installation.

  13. At the end, if one or more card was removed and the counters are currently not 0, install the remaining cards 1 at the time to find out which one(s) is(are) causing the counters to be at 0.
  14. Replace faulty cards.
  15. Do close out.
