Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

NOTE:
The output voltages and indicated altitude readings shown in bold represent the four basic monitored functions described below:
  • The Antenna Fault monitoring function only exists when the ANT MON ENABLE discrete pin (P1-21) is grounded and the system is equipped with ANT-52 antennas.
  • The Power Supply Fault monitoring function detects an out-of-tolerance voltage level from the power supply.
  • The Invalid Strap monitoring function detects an invalid strap configuration with the Aircraft Installation Delay (AID) strapping, the Modulation Frequency strapping, or the Analog Format strapping (if applicable).
  • The Internal Fault monitoring function detects an internal failure within the ALT-4000 unit.
