Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Compare the active fault recorded with the active faults in the table that follows:

NAME OF DISPLAY UNIT ACTIVE FAULT TEST
CAIMS PMAT A/T 1 TQA FAULT ATA 34 - IAC (FMS) - Auto-throttle Test, A/T TQA Wraparound TEST
CAIMS PMAT FWC 1 - EXTERNAL ASCB FAULT ATA 31 IAC (FWC1) ASCB System TEST, IAC EDS/Core Test
CAIMS PMAT FWC 2 - EXTERNAL ASCB FAULT ATA 31 IAC (FWC2) ASCB System TEST, IAC EDS/Core Test
CAIMS PMAT FWC 3 - EXTERNAL ASCB FAULT ATA 31 IAC (FWC3) ASCB System TEST, IAC EDS/Core Test

  2. Get access to system diagnostics on the CAIMS PMAT and do the test for the applicable active fault. After each test is completed, check the TEST RESULTS page and record the fault type and code for each IMT fault.
  3. Get access to the IMT fault code look-up and perform the applicable troubleshooting procedures.
  4. Is the fault present?

    1. If YES, continue with the next step.
    2. If NO, do the close out.

  5. Interchange IAC 1 (A11) with IAC 2 (A10).
  6. Does the fault remaining posted?

    1. If YES, continue with the next step.
    2. If NO, replace the IAC 1 (A11) and do the close out.

  7. Do the wiring continuity check as follows.

    FROM TO  EXPECTED RESULT RESULT
    JB3-JB3DP1-7F  IAC 1 (A11) A11BP1-102  continuity
    JB3-JB3DP1-7D  IAC 3 (A12) A12BP1-102  continuity
    JB3-JB3DP1-7E JB3-JB3DP1-7D  continuity
    JB3-JB3DP1-7D  JB3-JB3DP1-7F  continuity
    TQA (AP41) AP41P1 - 6  JB3-JB3DP1 pin 7E  continuity
    TQA (AP41) AP41P1 - 5  IAC 1 (A11) A11BP1-85  continuity
    TQA (AP41) AP41P1 - 4 IAC 1 (A11) A11CP1-29  continuity
    TQA (AP41) AP41P1 - 3  IAC 1 (A11) A11CP1-28  continuity

  8. Is the wiring check good?

    1. If YES, continue with the next step.
    2. If NO, repair or replace as required.

  9. Replace the TQA (AP41).
