Fault Description:
The High Gain Antenna (HGA) High Power Amplifier (HPA) BITE bus to the Satellite Data Unit (SDU) is inactive.
Possible Causes:
- Satellite Data Unit (SDU) (A228)
- High Power Amplifier (HPA) (A229)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Disconnect HPA connector A229AP1 and SDU connector A228BP1. Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A229AP1-C1 Ground A229AP1-D1 Ground A229AP1-C1 A229AP1-D1 - If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is no continuity, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A229AP1-C1 A228BP1-E6 A229AP1-D1 A228BP1-F6 - If there is continuity, continue with next step.
- If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- Replace the HPA. Is the fault resolved?
- If YES, do close out.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- Replace SDU.
- Do close out.
