RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Although all components in the Satellite Communications (SATCOM) System operate satisfactorily, data transmission through the specified Ground Earth Station (GES) is not possible.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Upload the ORT table into the SDU.
    NOTE: During the initial installation and configuration of the SATCOM system, the ORT (with the approved GESs) is installed in the SDU. When the SATCOM system starts, it automatically makes a selection of an approved GES from the ORT. To add a new approved GES, you must change the ORT and install it again.

    1. If the fault is resolved, do close out.
    2. If the fault is still present, continue with next step.

  2. Use the ORT editor to make a new ORT or change an existing ORT.
  3. Do close out.
