Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Disconnect Datalink Unit connector A239CP1. Make sure the ADLU is receiving 28 VDC power at pin A239CP1-2 and a ground is present at pin A239CP1-4.

    1. If power and ground are good, continue with next step.
    2. If power or ground are not present, troubleshoot wiring or power source (SPDA 4) and do close out.

  2. Disconnect Datalink Unit connector A239AP1 and SDU connector A228BP1. Perform a wiring check as follows:

    From To Result
    A239AP1-A15 Ground
    A239AP1-B15 Ground
    A239AP1-C15 Ground
    A239AP1-D15 Ground
    A239AP1-A15 A239AP1-B15
    A239AP1-C15 A239AP1-D15

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a wiring check as follows:

    From To Result
    A239AP1-A15 A228BP1-G1
    A239AP1-B15 A228BP1-H1
    A239AP1-C15 A228BP1-J1
    A239AP1-D15 A228BP1-K1

    1. If there is continuity, continue with next step.
    2. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.

  4. Replace the ADLU. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  5. Replace the SDU.
  6. Do close out.
