Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Do the operational test of the SATCOM system. Is the operational test of the SATCOM system satisfactory?

    1. If NO, troubleshoot and fix the SATCOM system as required, and then continue with next step.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  2. Operate the Airborne Data-Link System using SATCOM network to receive the terminal text weather information. Is the NEW message advisory shown on FMS CDU and new message received?
NOTE: Do the initialization of the Flight Management System.

    1. If YES, verify that CAIMS fault code 2320009TDY 'ADLU SATCOM FAULT' is not displayed on PMAT and do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks, short to ground and pin/socket retention checks between the ADLU connector A239AP1 and the SDU connector A228BP1. Is it satisfactory?

    1. If NO, repair or replace the defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the Airborne Data-Link Unit (ADLU).
NOTE: The ADLU does not receive ARINC broadcast data, when SATCOM/SDU is operational.
  5. Do close out.
