Fault Description:
Airborne Data-Link Unit (ADLU) ARINC 429 Receiver 2 firmware failure.

This Receiver is used for the VHF TUNING. Make sure aircraft is within VHF range of ACARS data communication ground station and VHF #3 is operative. VHF NOCOMM or NOCOMM is displayed on FMS CDU.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Operate the Airborne Data-Link System using VHF network to receive the terminal text weather information.
NOTE: Do the initialization of the Flight Management System (FMS). - If VHF NOCOMM or NOCOMM message is displayed in the advisory display area on FMS CDU, proceed to a wiring check, short to ground and pin/socket retention check between ADLU and the VHF COM #3. Is the terminal text weather information displayed?
- If YES, verify that CAIMS fault code 2320012TDY "ADLU ARINC RX 2 FAULT" is not displayed on PMAT and do close out.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks, short to ground and pin/socket retention check between the Airborne Data-Link Unit (ADLU) connector A239BP1 and the VHF COM #3 connector A226P1. Is it satisfactory?
- If NO, repair or replace the defective wiring as required per WM 20-12 and do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Replace the Airborne Data-Link Unit (ADLU) (ADLU ARINC 429 Receiver #2 is faulty).
- Do close out.
