CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Secondary Logic Card has detected an internal failure.

Possible Causes:

  • Secondary Logic Card (SLC) 1
  • Left Microprocessor Card
  • A/D Converter Card

The following are the main functions of SLC1:

  1. Control of AC 1 feeder (K15) and EHP 3B (K14) contactors.
  2. Current sensing and over-current protection (current > 121%) for AC 1 feeder and EHP 3B feeder.
  3. Control of AC 1 cabin relay (K16 and CB-B5).
  4. Monitors voltage presence on AC 1 bus.
  5. Monitors three external manually operated switches.

    1. EHP 3B Manual Switch.
    2. Left Aft Engine Run Command Switch.
    3. Left Aft Boost Pump Inhibit Switch.

  6. Monitors status of AC 1 feeder, EHP 3B feeder, AC 1 cabin relay.
  7. Monitor thermal circuit breakers.

    1. EXT AC PBA LTS (CB-A12).
    2. DCPC EXT CTL PWR (CB-A11).
    3. EMS CDU ½ PWR C (CB-A10).
    4. EXT AC INTERLOCK (CB-A9).
    5. STAB TRIM CH 1 (CB-B6).
    6. AC 1 CABIN FEED (CB-B5).

  8. Provides interface to microprocessor.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap SLC 1 with SLC 2, 3 or 4.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SLC 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Swap microprocessor cards.

    1. If system checks are good, replace defective microprocessor card and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Replace AD Converter card.
  4. Do close out.
