CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Secondary Logic Card has detected an internal failure.

Possible Causes:

  • Secondary Logic Card (SLC) 2
  • Right Microprocessor Card
  • A/D Converter Card

The following are the main functions of SLC2:

  1. Control of AC 2 feeder (K18) and EHP 2B (K17) contactors.
  2. Current sensing and over-current protection (current > 121%) for AC 2 feeder and EHP 2B feeder.
  3. Control of AC 2 cabin relay (K19 and CB-B8).
  4. Monitors voltage presence on AC 2 bus.
  5. Monitors three external manually operated switches.

    1. EHP 2B Manual Switch.
    2. Left FWD Engine Run Command Switch.
    3. Left FWD Boost Pump Inhibit Switch.

  6. Monitors status of AC 2 feeder, EHP 2B feeder, AC 2 cabin relay.
  7. Monitor thermal circuit breakers.

    1. APU BATT CHGR (CB-B7).
    2. SAT COM AMP (CB-A14).
    3. AC 1 CABIN FEED (CB-B8).

  8. Provides interface to microprocessor.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap SLC 2 with SLC 1, 3 or 4.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SLC 2 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Swap microprocessor cards.

    1. If system checks are good, replace defective microprocessor card and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Replace AD Converter card.
  4. Do close out.
