Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Allow aircraft to cool to the ambient temperature before you do the fault isolation.
  2. Perform a visual inspection of left MLG sensing element and grommets: make sure elements are not bent or in contact with other element. Check also for damaged connector.Repair or align as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a resistance check of left MLG overheat sensing elements (between terminal lug and element) as follows:

    Resistance at ambient temperatures
    65 °F/18 °C 55.06 MOhms
    70 °F/21 °C 48.22 MOhms
    75 °F/24 °C 42.23 MOhms
    80 °F/27 °C 36.99 MOhms
    85 °F/29 °C 32.39 MOhms
    90 °F/32 °C 28.37 MOhms
    95 °F/35 °C 24.85 MOhms
    100 °F/38 °C 21.76 MOhms

    1. If resistance is within tolerance, go to step 5.
    2. If resistance is out of tolerance, continue with next step.

  4. Replace defective MLG sensing element.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Perform wiring checks between FIDEEX CU (A106P1) and Left Main Wheel Well Element (E46).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  6. Replace FIDEEX CU.
  7. Do close out.
