Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

This message shows when there is an internal failure of Fire-Detection-and-Extinguishing (FIDEEX) Control-Unit or can be linked to Power Supply failure to FIDEEX CU.

Possible Causes:

  • Fire Detection and Extinguishing (FIDEEX) Control Unit (A106)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Make sure FIDEEX CU circuit breaks are set to in.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Measure for 28 VDC at FIDEEX CU (A106P1) & (A106P2).

    1. If there is 28 VDC, go to step 6.
    2. If no 28 VDC, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks between SPADA No. 2 (A14P1) and FIDEEX CU (A106P1).

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, replace the defective associated wiring and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Perform wiring checks between SPADA No. 3 (A15P1) and FIDEEX CU (A106P2).

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, replace the defective associated wiring and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  5. Perform wiring checks between DCPC (A63P3)/(A63P4) and FIDEEX CU (A106P1)/(A106P2).

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, replace the defective associated wiring and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  6. Replace FIDEEX CU.
  7. Do close out.
