WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Channel A of the Stall Protection Computer receives incorrect indications of Weight-On-Wheels (WOW) from the Landing Gear Electronic Control Unit (LGECU). These incorrect indications come through Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3, from Stall Protection Computer Channel B, or when discrete WOW input signals are out of range.

  • Landing Gear Electronic Control Unit (LGECU) (A52)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 (A30)
  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC) (A40)
  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC) Channel A
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap DAUs.

    1. If system checks are good, replace defective DAU and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue the next step.

  2. Perform wiring checks between SPC, DAU 3 and LGECU.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Replace LGECU.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue the next step.

  4. Replace Stall Protection Computer (SPC).
  5. Do close out.
