Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. On the EMS CDU, select CTRL function and SLAT/FLAP RESET.
NOTE: Wait at least one minute after SFCU reset to allow self-test to run.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Swap SFCU 2 with SFCU 1.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SFCU 2 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Check resistance value as follows:
NOTE: Performing this resistance check will verify the interface wiring in addition to the resolver.

Source From To Expected Result Result
from Left Slat Resolver A95AP1-2 A95AP1-1 166 to 170 ohms
from Right Slat Resolver A95AP1-14 A95AP1-13 166 to 170 ohms

    1. If resistance checks are out of tolerance, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If resistance checks are within tolerance, continue with next step.

  4. Perform a resistance check of the resolver as follows:

Source From To Expected Result Result
    Left Slat Resolver MT77J1-8 MT77J1-7 166 to 170 ohms
    Right Slat Resolver MT78J1-8 MT78J1-7 166 to 170 ohms

    1. If resistance checks are out of tolerance, go to step 6.
    2. If resistance of the resolver is within tolerance, continue with next step.

  5. Perform wiring checks between the applicable SFCU and resolver.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  6. Replace resolver.
  7. Do close out.
