Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Access CAIMS and select SYSTEM DIAG, ATA 28, FMQGC CH. A(B), LRU TEST. Make a selection of RECIRCULATION VALVES DATA. Look at the status of the left Recirc Valve. You can use that page to Open/Close the valves and see if the status changes.

    1. If the Valve status changes, go to step 6.
    2. If the Valve status does not change, continue with next step.

  2. Re-rack the FMQGC. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  3. Access FMQGC connector A47AP1. Disconnect Left Engine FRTT Valve connector P735. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P735-1 Ground
    P735-1 Ground
    P735-1 Ground

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P735-5 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P735-5 A47AP1-J10

    1. If there is continuity, replace the Left Engine FRTT Valve and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.

  6. Access FMQGC connector A47AP1. Disconnect Fuel Control Panel connector AP5P1. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A47AP1-J11 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  7. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A47AP1-J11 AP5P1-26
    AP5P1-15 Ground

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  8. Make sure the L RECIRC INHIBIT PBA on the Fuel Control Panel is set to ON or AUTO post SB 700-28-045. On the Fuel Control Panel directly, perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    AP5J1-26 AP5J1-15

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 10.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  9. Make sure the L RECIRC INHIBIT PBA on the Fuel Control Panel is set to OFF. Repeat the same continuity check as in step 8.

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 11.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  10. Replace the Fuel Control Panel.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  11. Replace the FMQGC.
  12. Do close out.
