Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Ice Detector 2 is reporting itself defective to Bleed Management Controller (BMC) 2. Inhibited during Take-off and Landing.

Possible Causes:

  • Ice Detector 2 (E49)
  • Bleed Management Controller (BMC) 2 (A70)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform wiring checks between BMC 2 connector A70P2 and Ice Detector 2 connector E49P1 as follow:

    From To Result
    A70P2-27 E49P1-4

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  2. Interchange BMC 2 with BMC 1.

    1. If system checks are good, replace BMC 2 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Replace Ice detector 2.
  4. Do close out.
    NOTE:

  1. Ice Detector Status can be monitored into CAIMS.
  2. Perform alternate test for this fault if the criteria stated in AW700-30-0292 is met.
