Associated CAS:

R FADEC FAIL
(Caution)

Reporting LRU: Right Engine Electronic Controller (EEC)
System Description: 76-10-00

Fault Description:

There is an unsatisfactory difference between the Throttle Resolver Angle (TRA) data signals to the Engine Electronic Controller (EEC). These TRA data signals go to channel A and channel B of the EEC. These circuits are continuously monitored by the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC).

Possible Causes:

  • Throttle Quadrant Assembly (AP41)
  • Right Engine Electronic Controller (EEC)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

  1. These signals are sent by two independent Rotary-Variable Differential Transformer (RVDT) for channel A and channel B to the EEC.
  2. TRA RVDT angles can be read using CAIMS, System Diagnostic, LRU Test, Throttle Quadrant Data page.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Carry out an operational test of the interface between the throttle quadrant and the EEC. Check CH A and CH B TRA RVDT values for discrepancies. Are the TRA values for channel A and channel B correct?

    1. If YES, go to step 3.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  2. Adjust the throttles to get the correct TRA values for channel A and channel B.
  3. Perform the operational test of the interface between the throttle quadrant and the EEC again.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Replace TRA.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Replace Right EEC.
  6. Do close out.
