Message Overview:

Fault Message:

R N2 SPEED CH B WRG/PROBE RNG

Fault Code:

7326229RBR

Associated CAS:

R FADEC FAIL
(Caution)

Reporting LRU: Right Engine Electronic Controller (EEC)
System Description: 77-30-00
Schematic Diagram: None
Wiring Diagram: 71-50-01 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) senses that the signal from the N2 Speed Probe of channel B is out of limits. During engine operation the speed probe circuits are continuously monitored by the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC).There are three speed probe inputs to the EEC: Channel A, Channel B and Shared. The output from the N2 Speed Probe shared can be changed with the output from the N2 Speed Probe of channel B to let the aircraft be serviceable.

Possible Causes:

  • N2 Speed Probe Channel B
  • Right Engine Electronic Controller (EEC)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Disconnect electrical power to the aircraft.
  2. Open the following circuit breakers:

System Name Circuit Breaker Name Bus Name
ENGINE R ENG FUEL HPSOV BATT
ENGINE R ENG IGN 1 BATT
ENGINE R ENG IGN 2 BATT
ENGINE R ENG START A BATT
ENGINE R ENG START B BATT
ENGINE R FADEC CH A BATT
ENGINE R FADEC CH B BATT

  3. Perform a deactivation of the thrust reverser and open the cowls.
  4. Perform a visual inspection of the interface for damage between the connectors Left EEC connector (P1046) and N2 speed-probe-connector (P1072).

    1. If any damage is found, repair defective wiring as required and go to step 14.
    2. If no damage is found, monitor the system to see if the fault message occurs again and continue with next step.

  5. Close the cowls and activate the thrust reverser.
  6. Close the following circuit breakers:

System Name Circuit Breaker Name Bus Name
ENGINE R ENG FUEL HPSOV BATT
ENGINE R ENG IGN 1 BATT
ENGINE R ENG IGN 2 BATT
ENGINE R ENG START A BATT
ENGINE R ENG START B BATT
ENGINE R FADEC CH A BATT
ENGINE R FADEC CH B BATT

  7. Check for the fault message R N2 SPEED CH B WRG/PROBE RNG.

    1. If the fault message is not active, do close out.
    2. If the fault message stays active, continue with next step.

  8. Replace N2 Speed-Probe.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  9. Open the circuit breakers that follow:

System Name Circuit Breaker Name Bus Name
ENGINE R ENG FUEL HPSOV BATT
ENGINE R ENG IGN 1 BATT
ENGINE R ENG IGN 2 BATT
ENGINE R ENG START A BATT
ENGINE R ENG START B BATT
ENGINE R FADEC CH A BATT
ENGINE R FADEC CH B BATT

  10. Perform a deactivation of the thrust reverser and open the cowls.
  11. Disconnect the Left EEC connector (P1046) and the N2 speed-probe-connector (P1072).
  12. Perform wiring checks between the connectors Left EEC connector (P1046) and N2 speed-probe-connector (P1072).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and go to step 14.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  13. Connect the Left EEC connector (P1046) and the N2 speed-probe-connector (P1072).
  14. Close the cowls and activate the thrust reverser.
  15. Close the following circuit breakers:

System Name Circuit Breaker Name Bus Name
ENGINE R ENG FUEL HPSOV BATT
ENGINE R ENG IGN 1 BATT
ENGINE R ENG IGN 2 BATT
ENGINE R ENG START A BATT
ENGINE R ENG START B BATT
ENGINE R FADEC CH A BATT
ENGINE R FADEC CH B BATT

  16. Connect electrical power to the aircraft.
  17. Make sure that L (R) FADEC FAIL (Caution) does not show on the EICAS display.

    1. If CAS message not show on the EICAS display, do close out.
    2. If CAS message show on the EICAS display, continue with next step.

  18. Troubleshoot L (R) FADEC FAIL (Caution) CAS Message.
  19. Do close out.
