Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Disconnect the affected map light DS53 (MAP LT STN 250 LHS) or DS54 (MAP LT STN 250 RHS). Perform voltage check as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    DS53P1-1 DS53P2-1 +28 VDC
    DS54P1-1 DS54P2-1 +28 VDC

    1. If there is no voltage, go to step 4.
    2. If there is voltage, continue with next step.

  2. Replace the bulb of the flight-crew reading light and perform the operational test.

    1. If the flight-crew reading light operates, do close out.
    2. If the flight-crew reading light does not operate, continue with next step.

  3. Replace the flight-crew reading light and perform the operational test.

    1. If the flight-crew reading light operates, do close out.
    2. If the flight-crew reading light does not operate, continue with next step.

  4. Disconnect the connector SPDA 2 STN 450 LHS (A14P1). Perform a continuity check between the pins of the connectors DS53 (MAP LT STN 250 LHS) or DS54 (MAP LT STN 250 RHS) and SPDA 2 STN 450 LHS (A14P1) as follows:
    For the pilot’s map light:

    From To Result
    DS53P1-1 A14P1-F
    DS53P2-1 GS568

    For the copilot's map light:

    From To Result
    DS54P1-1 A14P1-F
    DS54P2-1 GS567

    1. If there is no continuity, repair or replace the defective wiring as required. Connect the applicable map light (DS53 or DS54) and the disconnected SPDA 2 connector (A14P1).
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Perform the troubleshooting of SPDA 2.
  6. Do close out.
