Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Galley Control Panel (GCP) displays "updating" LRU status on CMS equipment page.

Possible Causes:

  • Insufficient Time Allowed to Complete Update
  • Interrupted Update
  • Loss of Power During Update
  • LRU Defective Beyond Field Repair
  • Wrong Configuration Software DataBase (CSDB) Used

Required Conditions:

  • Ensure the nice® HD system is booted up completely (power on and wait for about 5 minutes to ensure proper system status reporting).
  • On Galley Control Panel (GCP) navigate to home, CMS equipment page, select item "system software" and ensure the aircraft MSN is contained in "current p/n" (e.g. for Challenger C350, MSN 20613: p/n SCDC350-20613-A or p/n SCDC3-20613-04A).
    NOTE: If p/n is incorrect, contact the Bombardier Customer Response Center (CRC) for further instructions.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Identify the LRU in "updating" status.
  2. Wait for application 120 minutes.
  3. Power down the In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) system.
  4. Wait about 10 minutes.
  5. Power up the IFE system.
  6. Wait for about 5 minutes to ensure proper system and LRU status reporting.
  7. Check for the status of respective LRU:

    1. "update required": go to observed fault "Galley Control Panel displays LRU state update required".
    2. "updating": wait for about 60 minutes to finish the update.
      NOTE: In case state persist, please contact the Bombardier Customer Response Center and provide aircraft type, MSN, the LRUs name, and the sw components name.
    3. "disconnected": go to observed fault "Galley Control Panel displays LRU state Disconnected".
    4. "not connected": go to observed fault "Galley Control Panel displays LRU state not connected".
