Message Description:
A non-ROL mode has transitioned to ROL mode. This can be caused by the pilots selecting the basic ROL mode, selection of a different NAV source that causes the mode drop or the loss of valid data from the selected NAV source.
Possible Causes:
- Pilot action
- Invalid NAV source data
- Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 1 (A11)
- Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 2 (A10)
- Flight Guidance Control Panel (A79)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- On the guidance control panel, select Flight Director (FD) mode as required. Is the CAS message still present?
- If YES, continue with next step.
- If NO, do close out.
- Select a valid NAV source for the mode. Is the CAS message still present?
- If YES, continue with next step.
- If NO, do close out.
- Access CAIMS active Faults. Are there any Autoflight or Flight Director related faults?
- If YES, troubleshoot them first.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- Couple the Flight Director to the opposite side. Is the CAS message still present?
- If YES, go to step 6.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- Interchange the suspected IAC (1 or 2) with IAC 3. Is the CAS message still present?
- If YES continue with next step.
- If NO, replace defective IAC.
- Replace the Flight Guidance Control Panel.
- Do close out.
