Fault Description:
The YD 2 system does not operate correctly.
Possible Causes:

- Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 2 (A10)
- Rudder Linear Actuator 2 (B18)
- Associated Wiring
Troubleshooting Tips:
Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None
Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter:
- AFCS and YD FAIL nuisance CAS messages Forum article.
- Make sure the inertial reference system is successfully Initialized before performing the Yaw Damper Operational Test.
- YD 2 FAIL can be considered as an intermittent fault when Yaw Damper Operational Test passes.
- If YD 2 FAIL is displayed at the same time as AFCS 2 FAIL, the messages could be a nuisance caused by exiting the CAIMS PMAT or performing an NVM download. Refer to the AFCS/YD CAS message clearing procedure.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Carry out Yaw Damper Operational Test.
- If operational test passes, do close out.
- If operational test fails, continue with next step.
- Access CAIMS PMAT and check AFCS/IAC2 for Active Faults.
- Run PMAT test as required and use IMT Failure Code to isolate/verify AFCS/IAC2 fault in Active Faults.
- Do the close out.
