Fault Description:
NOTE: SELCAL VHF 2 (Cyan) does not represent a failure of the SELCAL system.
The following troubleshooting addresses the condition when the encoded SELCAL signal was sent to aircraft and is not displayed on EICAS primary display unit and the related SELCAL audio alert is not heard.
NOTE: The SELCAL system is a non-CAIMS compliant system
Possible Causes:
- Incorrect strapping of the SELCAL code terminal-module
- External interface problem.
- SELCAL decoder unit.
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Do a power check on the SELCAL decoder connector A20CP1, pins 2 and 3.
- Is there +28 VDC between the pin 2 and the pin 3 (Ground) on the connector A20CP1?
- Is there +28 VDC on the SPDA No. 4 connector A16P1 pin C?
- Is the wiring continuity, short to ground and pin/socket retention check between SELCAL decoder connector A20CP1 and SPDA No.4 connector A16P1 and the ground stud GS28 satisfactory?
- Do a wiring continuity and pin/socket retention check between SELCAL decoder connector A20BP1 pin 8A and GM17 pin A.
- Is the wiring continuity and pin/socket retention check between SELCAL decoder connector A20BP1 pin 8A and GM17 pin A satisfactory?
- Is the strapping of the SELCAL code terminal-module correct?
- Is the wiring continuity, short to ground and pin/socket retention check between the SELCAL decoder A20 connector A20BP1 and VHF 2 transceiver A2 connector A2P1 satisfactory?
- Is the wiring continuity, short to ground and pin/socket retention check between the SELCAL decoder A20 connector A20BP1 and DAU #4 A31 connector A31BP1 satisfactory?
- Do close out.
