Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Using the PMAT, access CAIMS active or stored faults. Select displayed fault from menu below:

    1. If no fault messages are present, continue with next step.

  2. Interchange the Avionic Bay Smoke Detector 5 with another smoke detector outside of the avionic bay. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, reinstall smoke detector 5 and continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace defective smoke detector and do close out.

  3. Interchange smoke detector 6, if installed, with another smoke detector outside of the avionic bay. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, reinstall smoke detector 6 and continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace defective smoke detector and do close out.

  4. Perform a wiring check between Avionic Bay Smoke Detectors 5 and 6 and the FIDEEX Control Unit.

    1. If wiring defects are found, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If no defects are found, continue with next step.

  5. Replace the FIDEEX CU.
NOTE: Do not replace FIDEEX CU before all of the above troubleshooting steps have been performed.
  6. Do close out.
