Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Using the PMAT, access CAIMS active or stored faults. Select displayed fault from menu below:
- If no fault messages are present, continue with next step.
- Interchange the Avionic Bay Smoke Detector 5 with another smoke detector outside of the avionic bay. Is the fault still present?
- If YES, reinstall smoke detector 5 and continue with next step.
- If NO, replace defective smoke detector and do close out.
- Interchange smoke detector 6, if installed, with another smoke detector outside of the avionic bay. Is the fault still present?
- If YES, reinstall smoke detector 6 and continue with next step.
- If NO, replace defective smoke detector and do close out.
- Perform a wiring check between Avionic Bay Smoke Detectors 5 and 6 and the FIDEEX Control Unit.
- If wiring defects are found, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If no defects are found, continue with next step.
- Replace the FIDEEX CU.
NOTE: Do not replace FIDEEX CU before all of the above troubleshooting steps have been performed. - Do close out.
