Message Description:
The rudder travel limiter system is unserviceable or in a standby condition.
Possible Causes:
- Flight Control Unit (FCU)
- Rudder Travel Limiting Actuators
- Unserviceable Rudder Travel Limiting Position-Transducers
- Unserviceable Mechanical Linkage
- Associated Wiring

NOTES:
- If this message was posted during aircraft power up, it is possible that this message occurred while the Rudder was not centered (aircraft parked in a windy environment). Perform the Flight Control system reset procedure.
- When the Rudder Travel Limiting (RTL) system centering check is invalid during the FCU SPOST 1, both Flight Controls Units (FCU) will report the two following CAIMS messages at the same time and they are:
-RTL DISCNCT/RVDT#1 MISRIG FAULT (27662331SX)
-RTL DISCNCT/RVDT#2 MISRIG FAULT (27662332SX)\ - The failure of RTL Centering check can be caused by any of the following cases:
-Both RTL RVDTs are not electrically rigged properly, (only if there is no electrical failure of the sensors).
Solution: - Verify and adjust the electrical rigging of both RVDTs as per "Adjustment of the Rudder-Limiter Position Transducers".
- Because of the kinematics of the rudder travel limiting assembly (i.e. both actuators are mounted in a sum displacement arrangement through a connecting arm ) a wrong adjustment of the eccentric bushing of the lower RTL Actuator #1 ( RHS ) may fail the RTL centering check.
Solution: - Verify and adjust the mechanical rigging of the eccentric bushing of the RTL actuator #1 as per "Installation of the Rudder Travel-Limiting Actuators".
