(Warning)

DDG Reference: None
Pilot Action (QRH): EMER 8-2
System Description: 27-10-00
Schematic Diagram: 27-10-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 27-10-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

Aileron trim indication on EICAS Primary display is outside the green band during take-off roll. (weight on wheel, throttles greater than 30°).

Possible Causes:

  • Incorrect take-off configuration
  • Aileron Trim Actuator
  • AIL/RUD/STAB Trim Panel
  • Secondary Power Distribution Assembly (SPDA) 1
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

If ailerons can be trimmed on the AIL/RUD TRIM panel, bring the aileron in the green band on the EICAS page and confirm the message clears. No further action required

CONFIG AIL TRIM (Red) will normally be posted with the 'NO TAKEOFF' (cyan) CAS message and other warning CAS messages. If you have this condition, continue the troubleshooting with the CAS message 'NO TAKEOFF'.

If ailerons and the indication are not moving, the issue could be related to faulty actuator, trim panel, SPDA 1 or wiring interface.

If ailerons are trimming and the indication is not moving, the issue could be related to the trim actuator, DAU 2 or wiring interface.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Measure for 28 VDC at B38P1-G and proper ground at B38P1-L at actuator (for power supplied to actuator).

    1. If voltage and ground are good, continue.
    2. If any of them is not good, carry out step 2 before going to step 4.

  2. Measure for ground at B38P1-K (for retract command) and B38P1-J (for extend command).

    1. If ground present in both cases, continue.
    2. If any of them is not, go to step 5.

  3. Replace aileron trim actuator and do close out.
  4. Swap SPDA 1 with SPDA#4.

    1. If fault is gone or transferred, do close out.
    2. If not, continue.

NOTE: AUTO PRESS FAIL (amber) shows if the fault follow SPDA 1 after swapping with SPDA#4.

  5. Perform the wiring check between SPDA 1, actuator, AIL/RUD/STAB Trim Panel, and ground studs.

    1. If wiring are good, do close out.
    2. If not, repair defective wiring.

  6. Do close out.

Troubleshooting for Aileron is trimming but indications do not reach green band.

  1. Swap the DAU 2 with DAU 4.

    1. If fault is gone or transferred, do close out.
    2. If not, continue.

  2. Perform the wiring check between DAU 2 and Actuator.

    1. If wiring is good, continue with next step.
    2. If not, repair wiring.

  3. Replace aileron trim actuator.
  4. Do close out.
