Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

GND LIFT DUMP/OFF PBA is pressed; the message is accompanied by the illumination of the OFF legend on this PBA.

This troubleshooting applies when it is not under normal conditions.

  • GND LIFT DUMP/OFF PBA
  • Flight-Control Unit (FCU)s
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform the cockpit switch test on CAIMS

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

    NOTE: If the fault is only reported by one FCU, perform troubleshooting on the related side.

  2. Perform wiring check between GND LIFT DUMPING and AUTO BRAKE Control Panel (AP23P1 pins 7, 8 and 9 /AP23P2 pins 7, 8 and 9) and Ground.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform open/shorted to ground checks at GND LIFT DUMPING and AUTO BRAKE Control Panel (AP23) AP23J1 pins 5, 11 and 12.

    1. If checks are good, go to step 6.
    2. If any of the checks fails, continue with next step.

  4. Perform wiring check of GND LIFT DUMPING and AUTO BRAKE Control Panel (AP23) internal wiring.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Replace GND Lift Dumping (GLD) Switch.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Perform wiring check between FCU 1/FCU 2 and GND LIFT DUMPING and AUTO BRAKE Control Panel.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  7. Swap FCUs.
  8. Do close out.
