Message Description:
When the conditions that follow occur and aircraft is not in a take-off or landing mode:
- Left and right center transfer pumps are commanded on.
- Left and right center transfer pump pressure indications are low.
- Fuel quantity in the center tank is more than approximately 700 lb (317.51 kg).
Possible Causes:
- ACPC/EMS
- Fuel Management and Quantity Gauging Computer (FMQGC) (A47)
- Left Center Transfer-Pump (B32)
- Right Center Transfer-Pump (B33)
- Left Center Transfer-Pump Pressure-Switch (S19)
- Right Center Transfer-Pump Pressure-Switch (S20)
- Associated Wiring
Troubleshooting Tips:
Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin:
- AW700-28-0496 - Fuel Quantity Indication Fluctuation
- AW700-28-0221 - Fuel System- Unscheduled Fuel in Forward Tank

NOTE: If the WING TO CTR LEAK CAS message is also shown, troubleshoot it first. The issue may be the result of an indication problem rather than a pump failure.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Using the PMAT, access the CAIMS Active Faults/Stored Faults.
- Select displayed CAIMS message below:
NOTE: If the reporting LRU for this CAS message displayed in RED on the PMAT or if no associated ACTIVE FAULT is displayed on the PMAT, do the troubleshooting below: - Using the CAIMS/System Diagnostic/Chapter 28/FMQGC channel A or channel B/LRU Test/FWD Fuel tank gauging Sensor Data Ch. A or Ch. B, access the FMQGC Fuel Tank Gauging Sensor Data pages.
- Verify if there is fuel in the FWD tank (Does not apply to G5000).
- If there is more than 150 lb of fuel in the FWD tank, continue with next step.
- If there is no fuel in the FWD tank, go to step 11.
- Manually refuel the center/fwd tanks to add 3,000 lb.
- Make sure the wing tanks are below 93% capacity (below 13,950 lb). In fact, the lower the wings are, the better the transfer will be due to point 5.
- Transfer pumps should start automatic. Verify on synoptic page.
- Make sure the quantity in the center and fwd tanks are decreasing in the CAIMS "System Diagnostic" pages (Reference Step 3).
- Do not stop the fuel transfer towards the wings until it is completed (pumps will stop around 250 lb on ground and 419 lb in the air). Make sure the fwd tank is empty as per above step 4.
- The message should be cleared.
- Check FMQGC output communication with the DAUs. Using CAIMS System Diagnostic pages for each FMQGC channel. Ensure data page information is not red. If data is red, the communication between DAU or PMAT and the FMQGC is invalid. You can also access LRU STATUS in the PMAT Start menu and select the FMQGC. Both Channels of the FMQGC and their relation to the DAUs will be displayed.
- Check FMQGC CH A and CH B ARINC outputs data communication validity and activity for DAU 1 and DAU 2.
- If FMQGC CH A communications is invalid, continue with next step.
- If FMQGC CH B communications is invalid, go to step 9.
- Swap DAU 1 and DAU 3. Is the fault still present?
- If YES, continue with next step.
- If NO, replace defective DAU.
- Swap DAU 2 and DAU 4. Is the fault still present?
- If YES, continue with next step.
- If NO, replace defective DAU.
- Perform wiring check between FMQGC CH A and DAU 1.
- If wiring check is not satisfactory, repair defective wiring as required.
- If no wiring defect is found, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring check between FMQGC CH B and DAU 2.
- If wiring check is not satisfactory, repair defective wiring as required.
- If no wiring defect is found, continue with next step.
- Replace the FMQGC.
- Do close out.
