Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The FMQGC and EICAS are set to different units (KGS/LBS).

This troubleshooting sheet is for aircraft with Imperial units (LBS)

NOTE: Aircraft that have complied with SB 700-31-027 have Metric units (KGS).

Possible Causes:

  • Fuel Management and Quantity Gauging Computer (FMQGC) (A47)
  • FMQGC wire strapping
  • Configuration Module wire strapping
  • Associated Wiring

NOTE: Ensure the correct wiring diagram is used when checking the wiring per the tables below in the troubleshooting recommendation. Some aircraft do not have TM221 (Pre SB 700-28-029) they have wire splices to join the wiring together. Also confirm that the aircraft being worked is either set to Metric units (KGS) or Imperial units (LBS) see SB 700-31-027.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform wiring checks (open circuit = failure) between the pins of the connectors that follow. Repair as required.
    NOTE: Aircraft incorporating SB 700-28-029 will have TM221 installed. Aircraft 9115 through 9158 will have TM221 installed at factory.

    1. If the wiring checks are OK, then do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are not OK then go to next step.

  2. Perform wiring checks (closed circuit = failure) between the pins of the connectors that follow. Repair as required.

    A47DP1 (FMQGC) K10 K11
    A47DP1 (FMQGC) K10 K13

    1. If the wiring checks are OK then do close out.
    2. If wiring are not OK then go to next step.

  3. Suspect the fuel computer (FMQGC) (A47).
  4. Do close out.
