Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The AFT XFER OFF SCHED (advisory) CAS message shall display when:

  • The AFT XFER mode is set to AUTO, the total wing fuel quantity is greater than or equal to 15000 lbs (6804 kg). and the aft tank is not full. This message shall be suppressed if the aircraft is on the ground requesting fuel with the center tank empty and the aft tank not full or the aircraft is on the ground requesting fuel and the aft tank is empty. Message suppression shall be latched with weight off wheels and remain latched until weight on wheels.

OR

  • The AFT XFER mode is set to OFF, the wing fuel is less than or equal to 11000 lbs (4990 kg). and the aft tank is not empty.

  • Fuel Quantity Indication
  • Fuel Management Quantity and Gauging Computer (FMQGC) (A47)
  • Associated Wiring

Clear the CAS message(s) that is related to Fuel Transfer first:

  • AFT XFER FAIL (amber)
  • AFT XFER FAULT (cyan)
  • FUEL COMPUTR FAIL (amber)
  • FUEL COMPUTR FAULT (cyan)

NOTE: If the issue only happens in the air, instruct the crew to observe the fuel synoptic page and record any fuel quantity fluctuations.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. On the EICAS, verify if there are other Fuel related CAS messages.

    1. If there are other fuel related CAS messages present, troubleshoot these messages first.
    2. If there are no other fuel related CAS messages present, continue with next step.

  2. Access the CAIMS to view fault messages.

    1. If any fuel quantity probe related failure messages are present, use SmartFix Plus to troubleshoot these messages first.
    2. If no messages are displayed, continue with next step

  3. When the CAS message is displayed, do you observe any fuel quantity fluctuations on the fuel synoptic page?

    1. If YES, go to the following observed fault to continue troubleshooting.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  4. Remove power from the aircraft. Remove the FMQGC.
  5. Reinstall the FMQGC making sure it is fully and properly inserted into place. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  6. If the CAS message is displayed and the conditions enumerated in the Fault Description: section were not met, replace the FMQGC.
  7. Do close out.
