Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Overview:

HYD 3 OVERFILLED
(Caution)

DDG Reference: 29-31-03
Pilot Action (QRH): HYD 11-21
System Description: 29-30-00 - Engine Indicating
Schematic Diagram: 29-13-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 29-00-05 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Message Description:

With the hydraulic system No. 3 pressurized, the reservoir quantity is above the acceptable limits. (Insufficient room for the landing gear retracted hydraulic fluid)

(See the correlation table below for hydraulic quantity message trigger limits):

HYDRAULIC FLUID TEMPERATURE QUANTITY
≥-40˚C to ≤-17˚C >33%
-16˚C to ≤4˚C >40%
5˚C to ≤26˚C >47%
27˚C to ≤49˚C >54%
50˚C to ≤71˚C >62%
72˚C to ≤93˚C >69%
Aircraft Condition: Weight on Wheels and system pressurized above 2600 psi.

Possible Causes:

  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 (A30)
  • Reservoir 3 Quantity Transducer (MT145)
  • Associated Wiring

NOTES:

  • If hydraulic system 3 qty. is high while system 2 qty. is low, follow instructions in Observed Fault - Hydraulic fluid transfer
  •  To avoid hydraulic fluid transfer from one system to another, follow procedure in FCOM1 04-09-1 when setting the parking brake.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Carry out visual check of the hydraulic system quantity.

    1. If visual quantity shows an overfill condition. Correctly service system. Confirm fault is no longer present. Do close out.
    2. If fault is still present continue.

  2. illu

  3. Interchange DAUs (3,1)

    1. If the hydraulic system #3 quantity checks good, replace failed DAU. Do close out.
    2. If fault is still present, continue with next step.

  4. Perform wiring check between hydraulic system 3 reservoir quantity transducer (MT145) and DAU 3.
    1. If wiring repairs made, confirm fault is no longer present. Do close out.
    2. If fault is still present, continue with next step.

  5. Replace system #3 reservoir.
  6. Do close out.
