Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The Weight On Wheels (WOW) monitor in the Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) cannot sense a WOW condition correctly.

Possible Causes:

  • Weight On Wheels (WOW) Monitor
  • Landing Gear Electronic Control Unit (LGECU) (A52)
  • Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 2 (A10)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Clear any existing LGECU related CAS messages before carrying this task.
  • Verify that no anti-targets are installed on the Landing Gear (nose or main) proximity sensors.
  • Review AW 700-45-0065 "CAIMS nuisance messages" and check the PMAT if any LGCEU Active Faults are present that could be a related nuisance fault condition.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform wiring checks between IAC 2 and LGECU. Repair as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Replace IAC 2.

  3. Replace LGECU.
  4. Do close out.
