Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Overview:

GEAR SYS FAULT
(Advisory)

DDG Reference: 32-30-01
Pilot Action (QRH): ABNORM 12-2
System Description: 32-31-00
Schematic Diagram: 32-31-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 32-31-03 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

A minimum of one downlock indication does not operate. The downlock indication function for the landing gear is kept when this message shows. The conditions that follow cause the message to occur:

  1. WOW on-ground shows and one input from one or more pair of landing-gear downlock inputs has a failure. These inputs can be sensor faults or internal faults of the LGECU input signal-path. The two conditions, a sensor fault and an internal fault, can cause the inputs.
  2. WOW on-ground shows and one output from one or more pairs of landing-gear downlock outputs has a failure. These outputs can be internal faults of the LGECU output signal-path or external faults. The two conditions, an internal fault and an external fault, can cause the outputs.
  3. WOW on-ground shows and one of the LGECU channels has a failure. This condition is an internal fault that prevents the flow of ARINC 429 data from the channel with the failure.
  4. WOW on-ground shows and LGECU channel B does not operate. This internal fault or an external fault condition can be caused by a catastrophic failure. No dc power or battery power to channel B can cause the external fault.

The failure of one input from one or more pairs of landing-gear downlock inputs does not cause the downlock indication function from the LGECU to stop. Also, the failure of one output from one or more pairs of landing-gear downlock outputs does not cause the downlock indication function from the LG ECU to stop.

Possible Causes:

  • Nose Gear Downlock Proximity Sensor
  • Main Gear Downlock Proximity Sensor
  • Data Acquisition Units (DAU)
  • Landing-Gear Electronic Control-Unit (LG ECU)
  • Associated Wiring
