Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Select related CAIMS message below:

    1. If no CAIMS fault message is present, continue with next step.

  2. Perform a resistance check of the TAT probe 3 (E50J1) sensing element as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    E50J1-3 E50P1-4 500 ohms

    1. If resistance value is correct, go to step 4.
    2. If resistance value is out of range, continue with next step.

  3. Replace the TAT probe. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  4. Perform a 115 VAC at TAT probe 3 (E50P1) as follows.

    From To Expected Result Result
    E50P1-1 E50P1-6 115 VAC

    1. If 115 VAC is present, go to step 7.
    2. If 115 VAC is not present, continue with next step.

  5. Perform a wiring check between TAT probe 3 (E50P1) and the HBMU 1 (A121P1).

    1. If wiring defects are found, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If no defects are found, continue with next step.

  6. Swap HBMU 1 with HBMU 2. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace defective HBMU and do close out.

  7. Perform a wiring check between TAT probe 3 (E50P1) and ADC 3 (A29P1).

    1. If wiring defects are found, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If no defects are found, continue with next step.

  8. Replace ADC 3.
  9. Do close out.
