Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Manually open the pivoting doors and inspect for distortion, debris or damage.

    1. If an abnormal condition is found, apply corrective action and do close out.
    2. If inspection is good, continue with next step.

  2. Inspect left and right primary lock actuator and mechanism for damage.

    1. If damage is found, apply corrective action and do close out.
    2. If no damage is found, continue with next step.

  3. Inspect tertiary lock for damage. Inspect the tertiary lock spring, making sure that it is in place in its groove, not broken or not twisted out of place. See image below.

    1. If damage is found, apply corrective action and do close out.
    2. If no damage is found, continue with next step.

  4. Swap left and/or right primary lock actuator with lock actuators on opposite thrust reverser assembly.

    1. If fault follows, replace the defective lock actuator.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Swap upper and/or lower tertiary lock with tertiary locks on opposite thrust reverser assembly to confirm the fault and replace defective tertiary lock.
  6. Do close out.
