(WARNING)
RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The oil pressure for the left engine is less than the permitted limit for continued operation.

Possible Causes:

  • Oil Pump
  • Oil Leakage

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Do an engine run leak check.
  2. If there is oil leaks, do the steps that follow:

    1. Repair any defective joint(s) or replace defective components.
    2. Do the engine run leak check again.
    3. Make sure the fault message L OIL LO PRESS (warning) does not show on the EICAS primary display.

  3. If there is no leak, do the steps that follow:

    1. Remove the oil pump.
    2. Install a new oil pump.
    3. Do the Fault Confirmation in this task again.
    4. Make sure that the fault message L OIL LO PRESS (red) does not show on the EICAS primary display.

  4. Do close out.
