Fault Description:
L ENG FUEL SOV CLSD (Status) when the conditions that follow occur:
- The left engine fire handle is pulled.
- The left engine feed shut-off valve is closed.
- L ENG SOVS CLSD (status), is not shown.
This troubleshooting applies when it is not under normal conditions.
Possible Causes:
- LH Engine Feed Shut-off Valve (L38)
- Fuel Computer (FMQGC) (A47)
- LH FIREX Handle (A209)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
The L FUEL SOV CLSD (Status) CAS message is posted with LH FIREX handle not pulled.
- On the CAIMS PMAT do the steps that follow:
- Select CAIMS
- Select System Diagnostics
- Select 28-00 FUEL
- Select Computer (FMQGC CH A(B))
- Select LRU TEST
- Select FIRE SHUTOFF DATA CH A(B)
Troubleshooting for handle discrepancy:
- If the status for the fire handle shows PULLED then remove the LH ENG FIREX handle and disconnect A209P1. Perform a wiring continuity check below.
FROM TO EXPECTED RESULT RESULT A209P1 - 15 A209P1 - 4 OPEN - If the wiring check shows continuity, then replace the LH Firex Handle A209.
- If the wiring check is good, continue with the next step.
- Remove the FMQGC from the tray and perform the wiring continuity check below.
FROM TO EXPECTED RESULT RESULT A47AP1 - F11 Airframe Ground OPEN - If the wiring check shows continuity, repair or replace the wiring from the Fire handle to the FMQGC.
- If the wiring check is good, continue with the next step.
- Re-rack or re-install the FMQGC making sure it is fully and properly pushed into place. Is the fault still present?
- If YES, then suspect the FMQGC.
- If NO, continue with the next step.
- Do close out.
Troubleshooting for a LH feed valve discrepancy:
- If the status for the LEFT ENG FEED VALVE CLOSED STATUS shows CLOSED then remove the LH ENG FIREX handle and disconnect A209P1. Perform a wiring check below.
FROM TO EXPECTED RESULT RESULT A209P1 - 30 A209P1 - 14 OPEN - If the wiring check shows continuity, then replace the LH FIREX Handle A209.
- If the wiring check is good, continue with the next step.
- Remove the FMQGC from the tray and perform the wiring continuity check below.
FROM TO EXPECTED RESULT RESULT A47AP1 - F9 Airframe Ground OPEN - If the wiring check is not good, suspect the L ENGINE FEED SHUTOFF VALVE (L38).
- If the wiring check is good, continue with the next step.
- Re-rack or re-install the FMQGC making sure it is fully and properly pushed into place. Is the fault still present?
- If YES, then suspect the FMQGC.
- If NO, continue with the next step.
- Do close out.
