Airborne dust from the carpet and the air inside the aircraft often builds up inside the Ventilated Temperature Sensors. Cleaning all three ventilated sensors regularly will prevent failures. Use a small paint brush, and a light vacuum.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Clean Fwd Ventilated Temperature Sensor.
  2. Visually verify that the internal fan inside the sensor is turning, and no dust is present inside the unit.
  3. Verify Power (28 VDC) at B15P1-1, and ground at B15P1-2.
  4. Swap Fwd Vent Temperature Sensor with Cockpit or Aft sensor.

    1. If system checks are good, replace Fwd Vent Temperature Sensor and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Perform a wiring checks between Fwd Vent Temperature Sensor and ACSC 1 and Fwd Ventilated Temp Sensor and Ground.

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, replace the defective associated wiring and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  6. Replace ACSC 1.
  7. Do close out.
