WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Air Conditioning System Controller (ACSC) 2 Channel A does not receive data from Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 4.

Possible Causes:

  • Air Conditioning System Controller (ACSC) 2 (A88)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 4 (A31)
  • Junction Box (JB4)
  • Associated Wiring

  • AW700-21-0160 - "PACK FAULT" CAS message while CAIMS / OMS is active (Global Express / XRS - 9002 to 9312, 9314 to 9380, 9384 to 9429 and Global 5000 - 9127 to 9383, 9389 to 9400, 9404 to 9431 and 9998)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap DAU 4 with DAU 3.

    1. If the system checks are good, replace DAU 4 and do close out.
    2. If the fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Swap ACSC 2 with ACSC 1.

    1. If the system checks are good, replace ACSC 2 and do close out.
    2. If the fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a wiring checks of wires between DAU 4 and ACSC 2 (ref: Wiring Manual 31-42-00 Sheet 8 of 9, page 1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective associated wiring and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Remove JB4 and check K26 operation.
  5. Perform continuity check of JB4 (Ref: Wiring Manual: 31-42-00 Sheet 8 of 9, page 1).

    1. If there is continuity, repair the defective associated wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  6. Replace JB4.
  7. Do close out.
