RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS) 1 does not operate correctly.

Possible Causes:

  • Flight Guidance Control Panel (A79)
  • Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 1 (A11)
  • Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 2 (A10)
  • Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 3 (A12)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Get access to system diagnostics on the CAIMS PMAT.
  2. Perform the IMT tests (Guidance Panel Test, Aileron Servo Test, Elevator Servo Test, Rudder Actuator Test, AFCS Switches Test, Elevator Trim Interface Test) for the active fault. After each IMT test has completed, check the TEST RESULTS page and record the fault type and code for the active IMT fault.
  3. Perform the IMT fault code look-up procedure to find the applicable troubleshooting procedures.
  4. Do close out.
