Message Overview:

Fault Message:

GEN1 OVERFREQUENCY FAULT

Fault Code:

2421112LPS

Associated CAS:

GEN 1 FAIL
(Advisory)

Reporting LRU: Generator Control Unit (GCU) 1
System Description: 21-21-00
Schematic Diagram: 24-21-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 24-21-01 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

An over-frequency failure signal is given when the line frequency of the Variable Frequency Generator (VFG) (PMG frequency) is more than 629 ±1 Hz.

Possible Causes:

  • Generator Control Unit (GCU) 1 (A56)
  • Variable Frequency Generator (VFG) 1 (G1)

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

A GCU patch cable (GSE REF # 24X-24-02) can be used to swap GCUs 1, 4 and 5 into position 2 or 3 (for troubleshooting only)The GCU NVMs can only be downloaded at position #2 or #3

NOTE:

  1. When generator is switched off, two reset attempts can be made. If NOT successful, reset will only be possible with a complete power cycle.
  2. The frequency necessary to reset must be at least 5Hz less than the frequency which caused the failure.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap GCU #1 with GCU #2 (physically or using the GCU patch cable).
NOTE: Use PMAT to monitor the fault on GCU.

    1. If system checks are good, replace GCU 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Replace VFG#1.
  3. Do close out.
