Fault Description:
Generator Control Unit (GCU) 1 senses a Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) failure on phase B.
Possible Causes:
- Variable Frequency Generator (VFG) 1 (G1)
- Generator Control Unit (GCU) 1 (A56)
- Associated Wiring

Over current detection specification: output current is more than 185 Amps on at least one phase of the Generator #1.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Swap GCU 1 with GCU 2.
- If system checks are good, replace GCU 1 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform a wiring check between GEN#1 and GCU#1 as follows:
From To Result G1P1-C A56P1-F - If wiring checks are not good, repair wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace GEN 1.
- Do close out.
