Troubleshooting Recommendations:
CAUTION: Due to the nature of this CAIMS message, wiring checks should be performed prior to swapping any LRUs in order to prevent damage to LRUs or aircraft.
- Perform a visual inspection for arcing evidences of ACPC primary section GCU 2 and GEN 2 feeder cables.
- If arcing evidence is found, repair/replace damaged components and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Check for short circuit to GND at T1, T2 and T3 on GEN 2.
- If short circuit is found, go to step 6.
- If there is no short circuit, continue with next step.
NOTE: Disconnect the power feeder cables on studs T1, T2, T3 and the ground cable (G) for short circuit test.
- Disconnect the connector A57P1 of the GCU 2. Perform wiring checks between the Generator 2, ACPC contactor K3, K7, K8 and the GCU 2 on each phase.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
NOTE: Call Bombardier for decision to repair ACPC wiring or replace ACPC.
- Disconnect the connector A57P2 of the GCU 2. Check for short circuit of LCTA wiring interface between the Generator 2 and the GCU 2.
- If short circuit is found, go to step 6.
- If there is no short circuit, continue with next step.
- Swap GCU 2 with GCU 3.
- If system checks are good, replace GCU 2 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace GEN 2.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace ACPC.
- Do close out.
