Fault Description:

The AC Power Center (ACPC) Solid-State Power Controller (SSPC) Power Card has detected a failure with the initialization of the AC SSPCs, the control logic circuitry and/or the load.

Possible Causes:

  • AC Power Center (ACPC) (A54)
  • Solid-State Power Controller (SSPC) 3
  • Left Wing Landing/Taxi Light (DS31)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

  • If the LEFT TAXI LIGHT or the LEFT WING LANDING LIGHT is inoperative without CAIMS message and SSPC is IN, check wires between EMS CDUs and external lighting control panel and the light bulb
  • If the SSPC is always tripped without CAIMS message, check for a short circuit between the LEFT TAXI LIGHT, LEFT WING LANDING LIGHT and the SSPC #3

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap SSPC 3 with SSPC 10. Monitor the R AFT BOOST PUMP.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SSPC 3 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Disconnect the L WING LANDING/TAXI LIGHT assembly and remove the SSPC 3 card. Perform continuity check for open circuits between the connections that follows:

    From To Result
    SSPC 3 P140-25 DS31P1-C
    SSPC 3 P140-28 DS31P1-A

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Perfrom continuity check between the connections that follows:

    From To Result
    SSPC 3 P140-25 Ground
    SSPC 3 P140-28 Ground
    SSPC 3 P140-31 Ground
    SSPC 3 P140-25 SSPC 3 P140-28
    SSPC 3 P140-25 SSPC 3 P140-31

    1. If there is no continuity, replace L WING LANDING/TAXI LIGHT assembly and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Disconnect connector A54P5. Repeat step 3.

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Replace ACPC.
  6. Do close out.
