Fault Description:

The AC Power Center (ACPC) Solid State Power Converter (SSPC) power card has detected a failure with the initialization of the AC SSPCs, the control logic circuitry and/or the load.

Possible Causes:

  • AC Power Center (ACPC) Solid-State Power Controller (SSPC) 8
  • Right Fwd AC Boost Pump
  • AC Power Center (ACPC) (A54)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

  • If the pump is inoperative without CAIMS message and breaker is IN, check wires between FMQGC, throttle quadrant and fuel control panel
  • If the breaker is always tripping without CAIMS message, check for a short circuit between the R FWD AC BOOST pump and the SSPC #8

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap SSPC 8 with SSPC 10 and monitor the R AFT BOOST PUMP.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SSPC 8 card and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Disconnect the R FWD AC BOOST pump connector B22P1 and remove the SSPC 8 card. Perform continuity check between the connections that follows:

    From To Result
    SSPC 8 P320-25 B22P1-A
    SSPC 8 P320-28 B22P1-B
    SSPC 8 P320-31 B22P1-C

    1. If there is no continuity, repair the defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Perform continuity check between the connections that follows:

    From To Result
    SSPC 8 P320-25 Ground
    SSPC 8 P320-28 Ground
    SSPC 8 P320-31 Ground
    SSPC 8 P320-25 SSPC 8 P320-28
    SSPC 8 P320-25 SSPC 8 P320-31
    SSPC 8 P320-28 SSPC 8 P320-31

    1. If there is no continuity, replace R FWD AC BOOST pump and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Disconnect connector A54P9 and repeat step 3.

    1. If there is no continuity, repair aircraft interface wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Replace ACPC.
  6. Do close out.
