Fault Description:

The AC Power Center (ACPC) Solid-State Power Controller (SSPC) power card has detected a failure with the initialization of the AC SSPCs, the control logic circuitry and/or the load.

Possible Causes:

  • AC Power Center (ACPC) Solid−State Power Controller (SSPC) 14
  • Satellite Communication (SATCOM) Fan Converter (B65)
  • Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Oil Sump Heater
  • AC Power Center (ACPC) (A54)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

NOTE: If the circuit breaker keeps tripping without a CAIMS message, check for a short circuit between the OIL SUMP HEATER and SSPC #14.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap SSPC 14 with SSPC 10 and monitor the R AFT BOOST PUMP.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SSPC 14 card and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Disconnect the OIL SUMP HEATER connector P805, SATCOM Fan Converter connector B65P1 and remove the SSPC 14 card. Perfom a continuity check between the connections that follows:

    From To Result
    SSPC 14 P460-25 P805-A
    SSPC 14 P460-28 B65P1-B
    SSPC 14 P460-31 B65P1-C

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a continuity check between the connections that follows:

    From To Result
    SSPC 14 P460-25 Ground
    SSPC 14 P460-28 Ground
    SSPC 14 P460-31 Ground
    SSPC 14 P460-25 SSPC 14 P460-28
    SSPC 14 P460-25 SSPC 14 P460-31
    SSPC 14 P460-28 SSPC 14 P460-31

    1. If there is no continuity, replace the Oil Sump Heater or the SATCOM Fan Converter assembly as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Disconnect connector A54P1 and repeat step 3.

    1. If there is no continuity, repair aircraft wiring interface as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Replace ACPC.
  6. Do close out.
