Fault Description:

The AC Power Center (ACPC) Solid-State Power Controller (SSPC) Power Card has detected a failure with the initialization of the AC SSPCs, the control logic circuitry and/or the load.

Possible Causes:

  • AC Power Center (ACPC) (A54)
  • Solid-State Power Controller (SSPC) 15
  • Avionics Exhaust Fan (B62)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

  • If the AVIONICS FAN is inoperative without CAIMS message and breaker is IN, do the troubleshooting related to the AVIONICS FAN FAIL message
  • If the breaker is always tripping without CAIMS message, check for a short circuit between the AVIONICS FAN and the SSPC #15

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap SSPC 15 with SSPC 10 and monitor the R AFT BOOST PUMP.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SSPC 15 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Disconnect the AVIONICS FAN connector B29P1 and remove the SSPC 15 card. Perform continuity check between the connections that follows:

    From To Result
    SSPC 15 P470-25 B29P1-A
    SSPC 15 P470-28 B29P1-B
    SSPC 15 P470-31 B29P1-C

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Perform continuity check between the connections that follows:

    From To Result
    SSPC 15 P470-25 Ground
    SSPC 15 P470-28 Ground
    SSPC 15 P470-31 Ground
    SSPC 15 P470-25 SSPC 15 P470-28
    SSPC 15 P470-25 SSPC 15 P470-31
    SSPC 15 P470-28 SSPC 15 P470-31

    1. If there is no continuity, replace AVIONICS FAN and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Disconnect connector A54P1 and repeat step 3.

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Replace ACPC.
  6. Do close out.
