WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

DC Power Center (DCPC) has detected a defective Electrical Module 2 (EM2) Fuse F5.

Possible Causes:

  • Electronic Module (EM2)
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Left Microprocessor Card
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Right Microprocessor Card
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Battery/Ram-Air-Turbine Interface Unit
  • DC 2 Feeder Card
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) (A63)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Remove the DC 2 Feeder Card, Battery/RAT I/F Card, Left Microprocessor and the Right Microprocessor from the DCPC.
  2. Disconnect connector P205 of EM 2.
  3. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    J205-12 J205-13

    1. If there is no continuity, go to step 11.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P205-13 Ground
    P205-14 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 12.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P205-13 P231A-8

    1. If there is no continuity, go to step 12.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  6. Set your Multimeter on Diode Testing Mode and perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P205-14 P2C-46
    P205-14 P3C-46
    P205-14 P410C-46

    1. If there is no continuity, go to step 12.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  7. Swap DC 2 Feeder card with DC 1 Feeder card. Does the fault transfer over to EM 1?

    1. If YES, replace DC 2 Feeder card and do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  8. Replace the Right Microprocessor. Is the fault resolved?

    1. If YES, do close out.
    2. If NO, reinstall the original right Microprocessor and continue with next step.

  9. Replace the Left Microprocessor. Is the fault resolved?

    1. If YES, do close out.
    2. If NO, reinstall the original left Microprocessor and continue with next step.

  10. Replace BATT/RAT I/F card. Is the fault resolved?

    1. If YES, do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  11. Replace EM 2.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  12. Replace DCPC.
  13. Do close out.
